Palak Paneer Recipe

  • 3 bunches – Fresh Palak
  • ½ tbsp. Cumin seeds
  • ¼ tbsp Hing
  • 2 tbsp Chickpea Flour (besan)
  • 7-8 – Garlic Flakes
  • 1 inch – Ginger Piece
  • 250 gms – Paneer
  • 2 cup Chopped Onions
  • 2 – Green Chillies Slits
  • 2 tbsp –  Oil
  • Fresh Cream For Garnishing
  • 1tbsp Garam Masala
  • ¼ tbsp. Turmeric Powder(Haldi)
  • 1tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1tbsp Kasoori Methi
  • Salt to taste


1.Cut paneer into cubes.

2.Heat oil at medium temperature and then fry the paneer pieces.

3.Once fried, keep them aside.

4.Chop the cleanly washed palak, along with leaves.

5.Stems can be added only if they are tender.

6.Add the chopped palak into boiling water.

7.Boil till the palak becomes very soft.

8.Remove water and keep palak aside to cool.

9.In the same pan add cumin seeds and saute till they start to crackle.

10.Add ginger and garlic and saute them until raw aroma disappears.

11.Add hing and saute, then add chopped onions,chillies and fry them.

12.Add fried onions and chillies, palak, garlic and ginger into the blender.

13.Blend well till you get a fine soft paste.

14.Fry the finely chopped onion in remaining oil till its colour changes to golden brown.

15.Add the palak paste to this and add salt for taste,Turmeric powder, garam masala, chickpea flour and kasoori methi.

16.Addition of salt while cooking results in the oil floating to the top at a faster rate.

17.Floating of oil indicates that the palak is sufficiently cooked.

18.Add the paneer pieces to the palak and add lemon juice .

19.Let it cook for another 5 mins.

20.Garnish it with cream and serve hot.
